General Information
Description of ProgramFamily-Based Services is a specialized form of foster family care intended for children and youth whose needs exceed the capabilities of a traditional foster home.

Independent Living is a tool used to assist foster parents in preparing young adults to live on their own. Utilizing the tools from the Casey Life Skills web-based system.

Family Reunification/Family-Based Services is the planned process of reconnecting children in out-of-home foster care with their biological/legal families.

Kinship Care/Family-Based Services is the full-time nurturing and protection of children who must be separated from their parent(s) and temporarily placed in the home of a caregiver who has an existing relationship with the child or the child’s family.

Kinship Care Home Studies places foster kids in the hands of qualified Kinship Caregivers which relate to the Kinship Care/Family-Based services.

Independent Living Services program is a tool used to assist foster parents in preparing young adults to live on their own. Utilizing the tools from the Casey Life Skills web-based system.

Emergency Shelter services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If a child is in immediate need of a safe place to stay, FCCY can provide short-term placement with a foster family for up to 30 days. During this time period, appropriate plans for future living arrangements will be made by all involved parties, including the child, the county caseworker, the child’s biological/legal family, the FCCY case manager, and the foster family.

Respite Care services in the event that a child needs periodic stays with a foster family during weekends, holidays, or other time periods. Ideal as a break from a child’s group home, institution, or biological/legal family arrangement. Respite Care guarantees that a child always has a safe, familiar place to stay where he/she has already established productive family relationships.
