Description of Program
Neighborhood Legal Services Association exists to meet the civil legal needs of poor and vulnerable individuals in our community through effective legal representation and education. NLSA provides legal telephone advice through its Helpline, referrals to the private bar, direct representation in certain civil matters, including employment law, housing and landlord/tenant problems, public benefits, family law, utilities, unemployment compensation, sheriff sales,mortgage foreclosures and elder law. The Elderly Law Project provides legal services to senior citizens.
