Description of AgencyThe Guillain-Barre Syndrome/Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (GBS/CIDP) Foundation International is the only voluntary, nonprofit organization that provides support to patients of GBS/CIDP and their families, awards grants to researchers and offers education to the public and professional communities. Our Mission Statement:
- To improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by GBS/CIDP through:
- The stimulation and sponsorship of research into the diagnosis, cause, management and treatment of GBS and CIDP.
- The development of programs providing individuals with GBS and CIDP and their families access to support services, resource information and health care professionals engaged in the diagnosis, treatment and management of these disorders.
- The development and implementation of public and professional education programs designed to heighten awareness of GBS and CIDP, thereby prompting early accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.
