Description of AgencyStudies and investigates complaints of alleged discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations and civil rights practices involving City employees and any conditions having an adverse effect on intergroup relations in the city. Conducts education and other outreach programs (including speakers) for schools, community groups, businesses and professional organizations, City Departments and others in order to promote equal rights and opportunities for all who work in, live in or visit our city. Handles complaints of discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, place of birth, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, familial status, age, handicap/disability, or use of a support animal in the areas of employment, housing, and public accommodations.
